At the theatre we generally perform one major adult musical a year. We always try and vary our productions to cater for a wide range of tastes. Over the last few years we have performed shows as diverse as ‘Sweeny Todd’ and ‘Copacabana ’ and from ‘My Fair Lady’ to ‘The Witches of Eastwick’. Our doors are always open to anybody, first-timers or old-pros alike. We do not always audition for chorus places but we do expect a genuine commitment from our cast members.
If you are interested in coming along, just keep an eye out for announcements both on the Hippodrome website and in the local press. The get-togethers are very informal occasions, whereby you can find out about the shows, meet people and have a drink at the very reasonably priced bar!
If you’re not one for the bright lights, but enjoy a good sing, then we also have singing evenings on a Thursday when not preparing for a show. Again these are informal and enjoyable evenings to belt out some tunes and learn some harmonies! Again this is a great social event with many sticking around for a drink and a chat after we’re all sung out!
If you would like to read any reviews of our past productions, or indeed have a nosy at a few photos, feel free to visit the show reviews and archives sections of the site.
