Souled Out Band fundraising event at the Hippodrome 5th March 7.30pm

The Souled Out band perform classic soul hits from the legends of Motown on 5th March 2010 at the Hippodrome. With a set based around the soul staples from the Motown and Stax stables, Souled Out’s fluid sound topped by a soaring vocal mix also lends itself to material like Bill Withers’ Lovely Day. Support for the evening is from the Calderdale Youth Jazz Orchestra and students from Dance Unlimited.
Tickets are available from the Tourist Information Centre in Todmorden in person or by calling 01706 818181. Tickets will also be available on the door. – see souledoutband.co.uk for more information. We’re delighted to say that Souled Out have offered to donate all the profits from this event to the Hippodrome to help support TAODS in their work to keep the Hippodrome running for the community.

The Hippodrome goes FairTrade

Todmorden has been awarded the FairTrade town status thanks to the efforts of the Todmorden FairTrade campaign group and the amazing support of local people, organisations and traders. To support this the Hippodrome is also going FairTrade with all it’s tea, coffee and sugar. We’re also planning to introduce other FairTrade products including wine at the bar along with chocolate and sweet products on sale at shows. We hope you will also come along and support the big screen showing of Black Gold, the movie on Sunday 7th March at 7.30pm. The event is free but contributions to the running of the Hippodrome will be welcome. The FairTrade Town award will also be presented to the Mayor of Todmorden before the screening.
Doors open at 7pm – everyone welcome.
